A
teenage girl in California had started to become obviously pregnant.
Her stomach was starting to swell
and she was suffering from morning sickness and very strange food cravings
and so on.
She
insisted to her mother that she could not be pregnant because she had
never had sex, so it was not possible.The signs of pregnancy continued and
before long the girl was feeling very bloated and unwell.
The
girls mother took her to the doctor and insisted that she was x-rayed,
so that the girl would be able to see the baby inside her
and would finally own up to the fact that she was soon to be a mother
herself. The
x-rays however, revealed a different story.
The
girl was a keen swimmer in the local waters, had somehow swallowed some
microscopic octopus eggs that had floated to the waters suface.
So,
instead of being pregnant, the girl had in fact gotten a live, baby
octopus attached to the lining ofher stomach!
